Santa last night...Tooth Fairy tonight

Sadie lost her first tooth today!  I was napping and missed it :(  She came running in my room to tell me about it. She bit into a tootsie roll and the tooth fell out in the process.  I am so glad because her adult tooth has come in behind the baby tooth and I going to take her in next week if she hadn't lost it by then.  We first noticed the loose tooth the day before her 6th birthday which was more than 5 weeks ago. Luckily I talked her into getting a few pictures of the loose tooth last night and it was heck to get her to take a few more pictures today.

I have some cute Tooth Fairy 3-d stickers so I can't wait to scrapbook this milestone.  Sadie has agreed to help me ;)

Christmas Eve

Christmas Day

Christmas 2010

Wow!  I can't believe it has been over a month since I last updated my blog.  Not much has gone on.  Just the same ol' same ol' cold & snow.  Sadie had a Christmas party at school last Friday and I have a lot of pictures I need to post.  This week I kept Cali, my friend Natalie's daughter, and her and Sadie had a lot of fun playing together.  We went to Leo's on Tuesday and I have pictures from there that I need to post as well.  On Wednesday my friend Jen and her husband went skiing so I kept her 2 kids plus Sadie & Caliana.  I don't know how moms who have 3 or more do it.  I was exhausted when the day was over, but I survived!

We had a great Christmas this year and Sadie cleaned up.  I think she got everything she want plus a bunch of other stuff.

Brrrr!!!

We have been hit with snow and there is even more coming!   School was cancelled today and is also closed for tomorrow.  I really love Sadie, but she drove me crazy today wanting to play.  I don't know how much longer I can stay cooped up in the house with her.  Yesterday we went to Jen's for a little while and it took us over 30 minutes to get home.  My new snow tires seemed to work well, but my back windshiled doesn't have a wiper and I had a hard time seeing to drive.  I had to pull over twice and clear my windshield so that I could see.

Here are a few pictures from today.  The stinking wind is blowing the snow all over.  I tried to use the snow blower to clear the drive, but I didn't do a very good job.  I finally gave up and went back inside.

My failed attempt at using the snow blower.

Anyone want to swing?

Sadie's 6th Birthday Party

Today we had Sadie's 6th Birthday Party at Blast Off.  It is hard to believe my baby is almost 6 years old.  We ended up with a large crowd, 22 kids and 16 adults.  The kids had fun playing in the ballpit and in the tubes.  It was a little crazy with so many kids, but I think everyone had a good time.   Sadie cleaned up and got a lot of cool stuff.  Even though we don't have family here, I am so blessed to have made some great friends here in Idaho Falls.  I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my scrapping girls.  Love ya'll!

School pictures

We got Sadie's first school picture back on Friday.  She looks so big and grown up.  I can't believe she will be 6 years old  in less than 3 weeks.  Time sure has flown!  She is loves school.  Her class is going on a field trip on Thursday to a local farm.  I guess I will tag along and take some pictures.

Getting ready for winter

Last winter I noticed that our neighbor had something on his roof that helped melt the snow (it left a triangle pattern on the edge of the roof).  I had no clue what it was until a few weeks ago when I cam across a roof de-icer online.  I showed it to Saeed and we decided to purchase one since last winter our front entry got had really bad ice build up.  Saeed bought one this morning and we got it installed today.  Our ladder wasn't tall enough for him to get up high enough to make the zig zag triangle pattern, but we got the cords laid in the gutter and the downspout.  I hope it is enough to keep the gutters flowing and help prevent the huge build up of ice/icesicles we had last year.  If it works properly is should save us a lot of time shoveling the front entry and breaking up the ice.

Saeed made me nervous on the ladder since it really wasn't tall enough and he had to stand on the shelf that wasn't meant for standing.   The gutters were full of silt and muck so he cleaned them out while he was there and we ended up with several pounds of gross muck in a plastic bag.  Guess we should probably clean out the back & side gutters sometime soon.

Playdate

Yesterday afternoon we had a playdate here at our house.  Saeed grilled hotdogs for us and all the kids played and had a good time. There was a total of 9 kids and 6 moms.  I just wish Natalie and Caliana had been in town for it.  It had been awhile since the scrapbooking girls had gotten the kids together to play so they really enjoyed seeing each other.  The moms sat at the table catching up while the kids ran around both inside and out. I hope we can continue to meet with the kids weekly or at least a few times a month.  We did have one casualty, poor Johnny fell and broke his collar bone :(  Hope he has a speedy recovery.  I didn't remember to take pictures when everyone was here, but I got a few after everyone left.

I watched Makena while Jen took Johnny to urgent care and to keep her and Sadie entertained we made some glasses with foam stickers.  They had a ball decorating their glasses.  They even made a pair of Johnny or as Makena called him "my baby."  They kept calling them "goofy glasses" and I got a kick out of that.

Sadie's hair

The texturizer that we put in Sadie's hair back in April has been needing another application for quite awhile.  I bought another one in August and I have been meaning to put it in her hair but just haven't done it.  Since tomorrow is picture day, I made myself do it tonight.  It wasn't nearly as bad as the first time (she cried the whole time and it took an hour to get all the tangles out).  I am worried that maybe it is a little too straight in some places, but I guess I will be able to tell more once her hair is dry.  I also trimmed up the back a little since it is Sunday night and no salons were open.

She also got a quick shower since she was already in there.  She normally hates showers and wants nothing to do with them, but she didn't seem to mind tonight.  Maybe because I used the hand held sprayer/hose instead of just making her stand under the showerhead.

Pictures to come

Dining table centerpiece

I bought this pumpkin (minus the stem) to use in my pumpkin tower.  I didn't like the size/shape so I decided to stick a few picks in it to make a cute centerpiece.  The leaves and berries are from the extra strand of leaf garland that I had left over (other strand is hanging on my mirror in the entryway).  Overall it cost a little over $2 for this cute festive centerpiece.

The pick was $0.25 and I took it apart before sticking & hot gluing each piece into pumpkin.

Habitat for Humanity

Today was my 2nd day to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity.  I really enjoy volunteering there and meeting new people.  Mondays are hectic since I also volunteer at Sadie's school in the afternoons.  I left the house at 8 am and I didn't get home until almost 3:30.  The window guy finally showed up at 4:00 and we got our basement window replaced.  My house is a wreck so I am hoping to get it cleaned tomorrow since I don't really have any other plans.

Getting ready for a craft fair.

I am thinking about joining a craft fair so I decided to get out my beads and get to work making some stuff.  Since earrings are the quickest and cheapest to make, Sadie and I made 18 pairs last night.  I haven't made earrings in a long time so it was fun to be making stuff again.  My palm is hurting this morning from using the jewelry pliers so much.

Still trying to figure out what to charge for them.  Any suggestions?
